Promoting propaganda, education of purpose, meaning of tree planting

Hai Duong city authorities launched the 2023 Quy Mao Spring Tree Planting Festival, themed “Forever grateful to Uncle Ho”, in Viet Hoa ward on January 31 morning.

Addressing the launching ceremony, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Tran Duc Thang expressed his delight at the city’s tree planting result in the 2020 – 2022 period.

To fulfill Uncle Ho’s recommendations and enthusiastically respond to the program “For a green Vietnam”, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Tran Duc Thang suggested that Party committees and authorities at all levels better propaganda and education to raise people’s awareness about great, comprehensive, and long-term benefits and human values of tree planting and afforestation associated with green and sustainable economic development, minimize impacts of climate change, and make Hai Duong's natural landscape more beautiful.

All-level Party committees and authorities should mobilize people from all walks of life, all agencies, organizations, and armed forces to actively plant trees.

Stressing that Hai Duong city was the first locality to launch the Quy Mao Spring Tree-planting Festival in the province, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Tran Duc Thang believed that with the highest responsibility and determination, the city Party organization, government, and people would continue to uphold fine traditions, strive to rise, strengthen socio-economic development, improve people’s lives, and guarantee the habitat for the city to quickly and sustainably develop together with the whole province, deserving to be a green, smart, friendly, and safe grade-I urban area.

Hai Duong city will endeavor to plant nearly 41,000 trees in 2023. Localities and units will try to finish planting before February 28 and ensure a survival rate of over 90%.
