The Hai Duong Provincial Library has been assisting some primary schools in Hai Duong city in organizing book festivals.
A school book festival at Cam Van Junior High School
In response to Vietnam Book Day (April 21), the Hai Duong Provincial Library has been assisting some primary schools in Hai Duong city, such as Dinh Van Ta, Sao Mai, and Tran Quoc Tuan, in organizing book festivals with activities like artistic book arrangement, introduction of new books and the meaning of Vietnam Book Day, etc.
On this occasion, the Provincial Library has granted 200 on-the-spot book reading cards to pupils of the schools.
Since early this year, Hai Duong Books and Educational Equipment JSC. has jointly organized two school book festivals at Mao Dien Temple of Literature and Cam Van Junior High School (Cam Giang).
At each book festival, the company introduced 700 book titles with about 2,000 textbooks and reference books, many good book titles on history, literature, life skills, children's stories, etc.
The company also offered a 10% discount on life books and textbooks for pupils.
The company is expected to hold 1 - 2 school book festivals/ month from now to the end of the year at schools in the province to promote reading culture.
On this occasion, Reading Books to Light Faith Club of An Duc pagoda in Quang Nghiep commune (Tu Ky) has organized its members to read books for knowledge improvement and lent books to pupils in and outside the commune free of charge.
The club has also held a lot of charitable activities like presenting a cow worth VND15 million to a poor family in My Duc hamlet, gifts to highland children, etc.
The library of An Duc pagoda was set up in 2015 with hundreds of books in various fields currently being kept there.
