In about a week, main-crop thieu lychees in Dong Man eco-tourism sub-area will be fully ripe, so Thanh Ha district authorities have prepared many activities to welcome visitors.
The district authorities have recruited more than 20 collaborators to work as tour guides.
They are responsible for guiding groups of visitors to the ancestral lychee tree in Thanh Son commune, a site for lychee contemplation on boat in Dong Man, Thanh Khe commune, and other relics in the district and informing them about the local history and culture.
The recruited collaborators are Youth Union members, teachers, and commune cultural officials.
To thoughtfully serve tourists, the district People's Committee has spent over 3.5 billion VND in building Dong Man eco-tourism sub-area in An Lao hamlet, Thanh Khe commune.
The district authorities have finished the construction of a parking lot covering an area of more than 600 m2 and toilets, and grounds for a road to Dong Man area and a wharf are being cleared.
* There are about 700 ha of lychees, mainly early ones, in Thanh Quang commune. This is the commune growing the most early lychees in Thanh Ha district.
This year's yield of early lychees in the commune is about 8,323 tons, up nearly 1,000 tons over the past year.
With an average price of 32,000 VND/kg (an increase of 13,000 VND compared to the previous year), revenue from early lychees there is expected to reach about 27 billion VND.
Thanks to favorable weather and good attention, the quality and appearance of lychees this year are much better than previous years.
Early lychees are being favorably consumed in the southern market, China, Cambodia, and Japan.
