After Tet (Lunar New Year) holidays, enterprises in Hai Duong province have started production with determination to achieve the best results.
Regent Garment Factory Ltd. organizes lion dance performances to welcome workers on the first working day
As noted at some businesses on the first working day in spring (the 6th day of the 1st lunar month), most workers returned to work with very low resignation rates.
On February 21 morning, more than 1,000 workers of Dongtai (VN) Ltd. in Phu Thai town (Kim Thanh) came back to work after the Tet holidays.
"As soon as my company leaders extended Tet wishes, all workers started working at workshops. This Mau Tuat Tet, workers here were given higher bonuses than last Tet; therefore, right from the first working day, all of us thought we must do our best to gain higher bonuses in the next year," said Nguyen Van Long who has worked for the company for over 10 years.
To Bac Duong Factory under Thuong Dinh Electric Wires and Cables JSC. in Cam Dien commune (Cam Giang), the first working day of the new year is very important.
In 2017, the factory surpassed the assigned output by more than 20%. This year, it is determined to step up production, improve product quality, and strive to outdo the assigned target by 30%.
"Over 300 employers and employees have excitedly returned to work because last year, workers were offered high Tet bonuses thanks to efficient working. We have also pledged to increase bonuses in the following years if the workers bring into play the result," said Nguyen Van Luong, manager of the factory's Human Resources – Administration – General Department.
On the morning of the same day, 420 employers and employees of Truc Thon JSC. simultaneously began new year working.
This year, the company will strive to sell 5.1 million m2 of enameled tiles, 40,000 tons of clay, and 13,000 tons of refractory bricks, up 3%, 141%, and 11% over 2017, respectively.
Nearly 400 employers and employees of Hai Duong Mineral Exploitation and Processing JSC. also started working on February 21 morning.
Despite many difficulties, such as expired raw material areas, low selling prices, and higher production costs, the company is determined to produce and sell about 1.1 million construction stone blocks of various kinds and earn VND141 billion in revenue, equivalent to 2017's figure.
This year, most businesses decided to start working on February 21 (the 6th day of the 1st lunar month). That employees returned to production lines in accordance with regulations in a bustling working atmosphere is a good signal to begin an efficient and successful production year of enterprises.
However, due to production characteristics, some companies extended the holidays for their employees. Shints-BVT Co., Ltd. in Thach Khoi ward and Laurelton Diamonds Vietnam Ltd. in Dai An industrial zone (both in Hai Duong city) will be open for work from February 26 (i.e. the 11th day of the 1st lunar month).
No worry about labor shortage
On February 21 morning (the 6th day of the 1st lunar month), nearly 400 workers of Hong Phong Garment Co., Ltd. in Tu Ky town started working in early spring. This year, the company will strive to export 2.6 million products to the EU and Australia. Photo: TM
In previous years, many enterprises worried about shortages of workers after Tet holidays to ensure production on the first days of the year.
This year, the number of holidays decreased but the percentage of workers returning to work at factories and enterprises was very high.
Representatives of leaders of Dongtai (VN) Ltd. and Bac Duong Factory said most workers had come back to work. Only very few workers living far away or stuck in family affairs asked for leave.
Starting working on the 6th day of the 1st lunar month together, nearly 600 employers and employees of ANT (Ha Noi) Co., Ltd. in Tan Truong industrial zone (Cam Giang) returned to work as usual. Early in the morning, the workers went to workshops more than one hour earlier than usual for the company leaders to extend Tet wishes and present lucky money.
"For years, lack of employees on the days after Tet has not been a headache to us. Thanks to regular care for employees' lives, especially on Tet occasion, they feel more secure and attached to my company. Everyone is excited on the first working day of a new year," said Nguyen Huu Trung, chairman of the company's trade union.
It can be seen that recently, many enterprises have well implemented regimes for employees, such as presentation of Tet bonuses and gifts for disadvantaged workers, arrangement of means of transport for workers living far away, support for vehicle petrol and lodgment costs, granting of higher and higher seniority bonuses, etc., making employees feel more secure and attached to the enterprises.
