Diverse sale methods
Hai Duong took part in the 2022 market of agricultural products and specialties of Red River Delta localities (taking place from June 17 to 19 in Ha Noi) with 35 booths and more than 200 agricultural and OCOP products like Thanh Ha lychee, mung bean cake, honey, sticky rice, ragworm, kudzu powder, etc.
At the end of the market, about 10 contracts and memoranda of understanding between businesses, production facilities, and cooperatives in Hai Duong and partners were signed.
Attention has also been paid to applying digital transformation to trade promotion.
The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development has introduced and sold more than 20 typical agricultural and OCOP products of the province on the Agricultural Extension Market website, such as cai hoa vang sticky rice, noodles with anabas, taro, mushroom, kudzu powder, etc.
Normally, goods are displayed at fairs and exhibitions for 3 - 5 days. Together with display, the provincial Trade Promotion Center also organizes activities to connect production units with supermarkets and convenience stores for long-term product consumption.
According to Nguyen Thi Van Anh, Deputy Director of Mely Food Vietnam JSC. in Hai Duong city, recently, the company has introduced and promoted its products at several fairs in Ha Noi and Nghe An.
There, the enterprise had opportunities to meet representatives of a number of foreign retail groups, helping evaluate the export potential of its products.
On average, Mely Food Vietnam JSC. sells about 100 boxes of instant noodles at each fair.
According to a representative of Viet Y Honey Bee JSC. in Chi Linh, participation in fairs and exhibitions is a new opportunity that promises prosperity after long interruption of direct trade promotion activities.
The provincial Trade Promotion Center annually informs businesses, production facilities, and cooperatives about fairs and exhibitions under the National Program on Trade Promotion.
In 2022, trade promotion activities are targeting provinces and cities in central and Mekong Delta regions.
According to incomplete statistics of the provincial Trade Promotion Center, businesses, production facilities, and cooperatives in the province joined in 14 – 16 fairs and exhibitions from April to the end of June.
Every year, the center also supports units displaying strong agricultural products, foodstuffs, handicrafts, etc. of the province at large-scale fairs like Vietnam Expo, Vietnam Regional Specialty Fair, and OCOP fairs of some localities such as Bac Ninh, Quang Ninh, and Ninh Binh.
The province's booths were attractive to many people who came for a visit, purchase, transaction, and contracting.
These also are occasions for businesses and production units to meet, exchange views, and share experience with each other.
In the coming time, businesses, production facilities, and cooperatives will be encouraged to actively participate in fairs, exhibitions, and large-scale fairs with staple commodities of the province, typical agricultural products, processed foods, OCOP products, etc.
