Mr. Chu Ngoc Anh, Member of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Science and Technology, paid a working visit to Hai Duong on April 19 afternoon.

Mr. Nguyen Manh Hien, Member of the Central Party Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee (PPC), Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Mr. Vu Van Son, PPC Standing Deputy Secretary; Mr. Nguyen Duong Thai, PPC Deputy Secretary, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, Head of the Provincial Delegation of National Assembly Deputies; Mr. Nguyen Anh Cuong, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; and representatives of leaders of some relevant departments and sectors received and worked with the minister.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Chu Ngoc Anh expressed his pleasure to visit the land of extraordinary people.
With attention from Party committees and authorities from Central to local levels, Hai Duong achieved many positive results in all aspects, especially economic development. The provincial scientific and technological activities made important contributions to socio-economic development.
Mr. Chu Ngoc Anh suggested that in the coming time, Hai Duong should focus on some large-scale staple products with high competitiveness to orient investment and development. The Ministry of Science and Technology would provide support and close coordination for high efficiency.
The provincial authorities should concentrate on promoting the development of enterprises in the locality and, at the same time, take advantage of the support, attention, and investment of ministries and Central sectors.
Regarding the provincial authorities' proposals, the Ministry of Science and Technology would assist the province in implementing research topics and applying appropriate technology to maintain and exploit the flow of Con Son stream.
As for a number of topics related to such products as black carp, potatoes, ruoi (Tylorrhynchus heterocheatus), etc., the minister asked Hai Duong to make careful considerations to choose the most suitable products before proposing realization.
Addressing the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Manh Hien desired that in the time to come, the connection and support of the Ministry of Science and Technology for Hai Duong would be closer and more specific.
Hai Duong would continue implementation as oriented by the ministry since without science and technology, all fields could not develop in the course of the 4.0 industrial revolution.
He also suggested that the Ministry of Science and Technology and the provincial authorities should annually coordinate and revise activity programs to assess results, learn from experience, and target better development steps in the future.
Earlier, the minister visited a vegetable and fruit processing and preserving facility of Hung Viet One Member Co., Ltd. (Gia Loc) and a pottery of Chu Dau Ceramics JSC. (Nam Sach).
