Mother of patient 970, the new patient is a friend of the owners of restaurant The Gioi Bo Tuoi (Fresh Beef World) at 36 Ngo Quyen street and often visited them there.
The information was confirmed by Director of the Hai Duong Department of Health Pham Manh Cuong on August 19 afternoon.
T. was taken to a concentrated quarantine area on August 14. Her house was medically isolated and disinfected immediately after the detection of patient 970, her daughter, on August 16.
On August 15, the patient was sampled and tested negative for SARS-CoV-2 virus.
On August 17, she was sampled for the second test with results given on August 18 by the Hai Duong Center for Disease Control and the National Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology confirming that she was positive for SARS-CoV-2 virus.
The patient is being isolated and treated at the Hai Duong Hospital for Tropical Diseases.
F1 cases related to patient 993 have been investigated and sampled for the first test with results awaited.
The area near the patient’s house has been quarantined for days.
