A requiem in tribute to soldiers who sacrificed their lives to protect the nation was held on the Luc Dau river in Hai Duong province on September 16.

Participants commemorate fallen Vietnamese soldiers from throughout history, including those who fought against the Yuan-Mongol invaders from the north during the Tran dynasty in the 13th and 14th centuries
They also pray for national peace and prosperity for all people
Following the sombre ceremony, thousands of colorful flower-shaped lanterns are released along the Luc Dau River. The event concludes with a vibrant firework display
