According to the Employment Service Center (Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs), in October, there were 1,279 people applying for unemployment benefits, decreasing nearly 40% compared to that in September.

In the same month, 1,827 people received decisions of enjoying unemployment benefits with a total amount of over VND 33.2 billion, which means 462 more people received the decisions in comparision with the previous month. 8 people, after applying for unemployment benefits, are supported with vocational training costs with a total amount of VND 33 million and 1,309 people are offered jobs.
Applicants for unemployment benefits are mainly unskilled workers, in the industries of sewing, embroidery, and leather shoes. Reasons for the decrease is that enterprises have gradually stabilized their production and business, the recruitment demand of the enterprises tends to increase.
From the beginning of the year to the end of October, the Employment Service Center have received 14,105 dossiers applying for unemployment benefits, of which 13,231 people received decisions of enjoying unemployment benefits.
