Thanks to favorable weather, this year's yield of longan has reached 12,000 tons.
Longan fruits quickly ripe with thin peel prone to cracking and are easily infected with some fungi because of thundershowers, according to the Plant Protection Sub-department under the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development.
To improve the quality of longan fruits, people should proactively harvest ripe gardens immediately instead of prolongation.
There are 2,120 ha of longan in the province, mostly in Chi Linh city (680 ha), Kinh Mon provincial town (190 ha), Thanh Mien district (240 ha), Thanh Ha district (230 ha), etc.
Despite an insignificant increase in area, thanks to favorable weather, this year's yield of longan has reached 12,000 tons, a surge of 4,300 tons over 2019.
